Michael Magennis Updates CHHMA Members on Canadian Tire’s Plans


 
 

 

 Canadian Tire’s Michael Magennis has recently taken on a new role at the company as Vice-President, Business Development & Operations, and he was on hand on the morning of January 23, 2018 at the Mississauga Convention Centre to present to close to 80 CHHMA members at our latest Speaker Breakfast event.

Michael has been with Canadian Tire for 26 years in various Merchandising positions and has been enjoying his new challenge. He discussed Canadian Tire’s “One Company, One Customer” strategy and corporate objective to be the #1 retail brand in Canada by 2022.

The presentation also covered the closer integration plans across banners, the Tested for Life and Loyalty Programs, as well as online selling opportunities including the Deliver to Home test market taking place.

Importantly, for those in attendance, Michael passed on his thoughts of how vendors can best work within Canadian Tire’s strategies.

The company has been experiencing strong
financial results and continues to be in growth mode.  Michael pointed out some key benchmarks vendors should be trying to achieve.

Michael completed his discussion answering a number of questions from
the audience on a spectrum of topics and graciously was available prior to and after his presentation to speak to CHHMA members one on one.
