18th Annual Industry Memorial Golf Classic

The 18th Annual Industry Memorial Golf Classic took place on October 2nd at the scenic Blue Springs Golf Club in Acton, Ontario.

Although the weather was a bit cool and rainy, the hearty group of attendees enjoyed breakfast and a round of golf on this always enjoyable course with colleagues, peers, and customers, while remembering industry friends who are no longer with us.

The CHHMA runs this event on behalf of the Canadian Hardware & Housewares Industry as it honours people from the industry who have recently passed away.  The 2019 honourees were George Bolton and Fred Sanders who both passed away earlier this year.  And, as always, all previous honourees are acknowledged as well.

Dinner & Speeches

After golf, more attendees joined the group for an excellent dinner. CHHMA President Sam Moncada said a few opening words and discussed the tradition of the event before Glenn Beattie from Magtar Sales spoke about George Bolton’s career in the housewares industry while Bryan Gilbart (Envirogard/Rainfresh) reflected on Fred Sanders time working with Emco Faucets and his famous joke telling.  Both of these gentlemen were known for their friendly demeanours and sense of humour, they will be remembered fondly by many industry friends.
