33rd Annual CHHMA Ontario Golf Tournament

The 33rd Annual Toronto Golf Tournament, held on June 11th at Rolling Hills and Station Creek, not only brought out 360 golfers for a fantastic day, it brought out the generosity and caring our Industry takes pride in!

The day produced some great shots, a lot of laughs and even more great golf stories such as Ian Gough allegedly making an "ace" (albeit not on the car hole).

This year's tournament low net champs were, Bridgitte Nielsen on the ladies side, and Brian Wall for the men. Bob McFee took the men's low gross, and Cindy Wegg took the ladies low gross for the 3rd successive year.

Adding to the excitement this year was a major prize draw for a foursome at Angus Glen. The happy winner was Jeff Middleton. Following a tasty prime rib dinner (no rubber chicken), an array of valuable prizes were handed out to deserving individuals and foursomes. The MC lived up to our expectations and got through the ceremonies by 7:30 p.m. (a record).

The CHHMA would like to thank all the hole sponsors (listed below) who helped raise $3,100 for The Easter Seal Society.

In addition, the friends and colleagues of Willem Robyn (World Kitchen Canada) raised $7,330 in support of 6 year old Gerrit Robyn, who is battling brainstem glioma. Monies raised will be used to fulfill a wish for Gerrit, with the balance of the funds being donated to Brain Tumour Research at the Hospital for Sick Children.

What could be better than a day on the links, great weather, great food, prizes and fellowship. All in all, it was a perfect day for creating new stories and wonderful memories.

The CHHMA also wishes to thank all of the corporate sponsors, those companies that donated prizes for the golfers, and all the participants for making this year's tournament a great success! Thank yous also go out to the Toronto Golf Committee, consisting of Bob Hilton (Chairman), Jan Hobman, Keith Cromwell, Vaughn Crofford and Maureen Hizaka for putting on such a great event.
