11th Annual CHHMA Night at the Races 2007

What a fantastic, fun-filled function! That was the general consensus of the folks who attended the CHHMA Night at the Races, held on June 6th at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto.

The evening began with a few drinks and dinner at the Post Parade restaurant. The restaurant offers a great view of the complete circuit and a very tasty buffet dinner experience. Then, at 6:45pm, it was post time and the start of the racing for our members. As you can imagine there was a lot of studying of form as folks tried to decide which horse or horses they fancied to win. I have heard that one of our attendees was up all of the previous night studying Tarot cards which they had been assured would provide clear indications of the winning numbers. Studying form might have worked better but it doesn't approach the supernatural satisfaction of Tarot. No matter which system you used everyone agreed it was a tremendous night.

The CHHMA's traditional in-house betting challenge was a big hit with the four major prize winners being Chris Gut; Edouard de Vulpian; Naz Virani and Mary Carbone, nice picking folks. We also had a number of consolation prizes but we think everyone felt like a winner at Woodbine.

There was a complete sell-out for this event, an annual happening in the Association social calendar. It's a tremendous way to meet with peers and colleagues and also provide you with a customer's full attention for the evening in a social setting. Such is its popularity that, for next year, we are increasing our numbers and opening up the event registration at a much earlier date. We are raising our seat availability by 25% so as to accommodate more of our members and their guests. The 2008 date for the event is June 18th. Please make a note of this important date so as not to be disappointed. Registration will be available in early January.
