My company is not a member of the CHHMA but we are interested in membership.

Mr. René Labrecque of La Coop fédérée was generous enough to take some time out of his busy schedule to speak to CHHMA members at a breakfast meeting in Boucherville, Quebec on October 12.

During the presentation, Mr. Labrecque spoke about Coop fédérée’s future development plans and current membership. He also discussed the coop’s role in the hardware marketplace, its current performance in today’s soft economy, the branding position with the Unimat banner and future expansion plans.

We would like to thank Mr. Labrecque for speaking to our membership. All who attended the meeting left with a better appreciation of Coop fédérée as a retail partner and a clearer understating of its future direction and plans.

René Labrecque has been General Manager of the hardware and machinery sector of La Coop fédérée of Trois-Rivières since September, 2009.

Mr. Labrecque is holder of an executive M.B.A. with specialization in international marketing and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, management.

He has been a high-level administrator during the last 20 years, including several strategic positions in the hardware/building material industry, within large-scale, fast-growing organizations in Canada.

René is also a member of the boards of directors of the Conseil Québécois du commerce de Détail (CQCD), ILDC and SPANCAN buying groups.
