Montreal, September 27, 2005. Rona CEO, M. Robert Dutton spoke candidly with vendors at a CHHMA Breakfast meeting giving those present an update on where he felt the industry was heading over the next few years.
M. Dutton talked about the growth and consolidation taking place in the industry and how Rona is positioning itself through its different store formats to continue to grow its market share, and through acquisition expediting the consolidation process.
While the independent sector is still the largest, M. Dutton noted that the new store formats are growing at a faster rate. He added that one of the major issues for independents is the lack of succession planning.
M. Dutton also said that being the only company in North America with a three pronged marketing strategy separates Rona from other groups, and that they can offer dealers a variety of options. |
